Al's Famous Pasta

Ingredients
~3 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Box Barilla Pasta (choice)
2 large broccoli heads
Parmesan cheese
Cayenne Pepper
Pepper
Pancetta or Prosciutto (diced) or anchovies
½ Spanish onion
4 cloves garlic or minced garlic
Note: I use a large frying pan so that I can mix all the ingredients together in the frying pan. If you use a smaller frying pan, use a bowl to combine the ingredients and mix.
Preparation
Cut the broccoli so that you have limited amount of stalks. You want to keep as much of the head as possible so that you can mash it later. Start by steaming the broccoli. This can be accomplished by boiling water in a pot using a steaming insert and covering the pot OR using the steaming function on a rice cooker. You want the broccoli to cook and become soft enough to mash.
Dice the onion and chop the garlic into small pieces.
Once the broccoli is done leave it aside. Bring water to a boil and cook the pasta.

In a large frying pan, heat oil to medium/high heat. Add onion, garlic, and your meat of choice. The meat options of pancetta, prosciutto, or anchovies provides the saltiness to the dish. Add seasonings such as cayenne pepper to taste. Add the cooked pasta to the frying pan to allow the moisture to burn off. Add the broccoli to the pan to brown it a little, then empty the contents into a large bowl. Using a fork, mash the broccoli lightly to separate the heads. Mix thoroughly. Add parmesan cheese.
Enjoy! I like to add the green tobacco sauce to the mix as well.
