Step 1: Find your goal

You have to start with a goal. A goal can be anything, but you must be specific. So, figure out what it is you want to do. Got it? Now let's apply it to SMART criteria:

S-  Specific

M- Measurable

A-  Attainable

R-  Relevant

T-   Time-sensitive

So, an example of a SMART goal would be "I want to lose 10lbs in three months for beach season."

S- Lose weight.

M-10lbs

A- Depends. Can you afford to lose ten pounds? If you're 90 lbs, losing ten pounds would be unwise and unhealthy.

R- For beach season. It's a motivator.

T- Three months.

Step 2: Work towards your goal

Identify what you can do to make your goal a reality. Is it dieting? Is it allotting more time for fitness? It may be both. Maybe your goal was business oriented. What classes can you take? What time should you strive to wake up in the morning?

Step 3: Achieve your Goal

This is the result of all your hard work. You may have failed time and time again, but you kept focused and worked harder than anyone else. Your will and determination got you here. Your resilience to adversity and fear made it possible.

Step 4: Strive for Better

Step 5: Repeat

If you thought you were done, you misunderstand. You can always be better, you can always do better. Working hard made you faster, it made you smarter. You've established a new baseline and forged a new you. Now, be better.
